I know that I wrote a blog post about living life as positive and as healthy as possible (you can read here), but there are still those days when you feel so unmotivated, feeling uninspired, unable to focus, stressed out or those days where things don’t go right at work/school. I get you, I’ve experienced those times just as often as you have. These are a few of my favorite things that I like to do to get through those bad days.
1- Light some candles
I like to lighten up my space with some nice scented candles. It helps to freshen my living area as well as my thoughts.
2- Run yourself a bath
I love taking a warm bubble bath, especially after a dreading finals week. It helps you to relax and unwind your thoughts in your own comfort zone. Soak up the goodness, release all the tensions and pull back all the good thoughts. With a bonus, light some candles in your bathroom as well.
I don’t only do this when I’m feeling stress, but at least once or twice a week to pamper myself. I can do a whole entire pampering routine post with all the products that I like to use in a different post.
3- Listen to relaxing music
I’m a huge music fan, I love listening to music. Especially love to listen to EDM, Pop and sometimes a little bit of Country too. However, during those stressful days I’d listen to an hour long piano instrumental music, slow relaxing music or my favorite is chill dub music, will help calm my mind.
If you know me, you know how much I love to read. I love exploring a completely different world and getting to know so many different characters, just simply in one book. It helps me escape and enjoy a different life as I read. It really let me to take my mind off things ad just focus on something.
It can different for everyone, I also enjoy drawing, coloring, painting, cooking and baking are also a really great way to just de-stress.
5- Go outside
One of my favorite things to do is watch the sunset. Just go out for a walk, to the park, a beach if you live near one or even sitting in your backyard. Breath in the fresh air, take a break from your world for a little and enjoy your surrounding. Just looking at a photo of the sun at it’s golden hour already made me feel great, that’s just how much I enjoy it. Take 30 minutes and go outside. It will help you a lot more than you think.
6- Exercise / Meditate
Exercising not only help maintain my health but it also helps you release all the tension and negativity as well. I like to do yoga, because it stretches out my muscles and keep them in shape. If you’re not a big fan of exercising, meditating is also a great option. I personally haven’t got into meditation; I think doing yoga have help me enough but, I know that it has helped a lot of people out there to calm their mind from anxiety, stress and many more.
7- Have some company
It’s obviously nice to relax by yourself in your room with some music playing in the background. However, sometimes having a company helps a lot. My favorite company to have, is obviously my boyfriend. I always ramble about how my terrible day went, he’s a great listener and will give me certain advice.
Have your best friend over or give them a call, sometimes all you need is to hear their voice.
8- Warm Tea
Never underestimate how much a cup of warmth could do. I like to sip on it as I’m doing other things, like reading, watching Netflix, writing…
9- Watch TV
This is pretty typical, but if I’m having a bad day, I only want to lay down and do nothing. So, I’d usually catch up with my favorite TV show after a nice bath.
10- Get a good nice rest
No matter how bad my day was, I try to put it at the back of my mind (or cry it out) and get my sleep. Just because one day is bad, doesn’t mean it has to continue on to the next day. Sometimes, I’ll have on some essential oils, relaxing music, whatever it is that will make me calm and the rest that I deserve after a tough day.
Remember that only because one day is bad, it doesn’t mean it’s the end of your world. Pick yourself up and keep on doing what you love. Always look on the bright side, put a smile on and face the world.
Lots of Love,
